The Richardson Senior Center, organized under the Parks and Recreation Department, provides a wide range of services for citizens 55 and older in Richardson and the surrounding area. We provide recreation programs and classes to enhance quality of life and lifelong learning. We promote good health through health screenings and health promotion programs. The City of Richardson's monthly newsletter, Richardson Today, contains the Richardson Senior Center's newsletter entitled, "Vintage Voices 55 Plus". Our newsletter highlights classes, health and wellness, special events, trips and programs. Our day to day programs are encompassed in our monthly calendar. The Richardson Senior Center is the focal point for older adult services and activities and our goal is to provide those services and activities that will meet the particular needs of the population we serve. We invite you to join us and become a part of our Senior Center family.
City of Richardson Van Service: Transportation is offered to Richardson residents aged 55 and over. The City’s van service operates Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Persons may ride anywhere within the city limits of Richardson for 25 cents each way or 50 cents round trip. Reservations are taken beginning at 8:30 a.m. the Friday prior to the week you need service by calling 972-744-7805
Benefits Counseling: The Senior Center has volunteers, certified by the Dallas Area Agency on Aging, who are able to assist you with your questions about eligibility requirements for Medicare and Medicaid, SSI, and other public benefits. Our volunteers can guide you in contacting the appropriate agency to handle your concerns. Please call 972-744-7800 for an appointment with our counselor.
Our Kitchen Concession Area serves snacks, sandwiches, and beverages along with a daily lunch special. Come down and have a cup of coffee with us!
